Worship the Lord

Give honor to the Lord, you angels; give honor to the Lord for his glory and strength. Give honor to the Lord for the glory of his name. Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness.Psalm 29:1-2
David had seen a powerful thunderstorm sweep across the land and attributed it to the power of the Lord. In this psalm, he calls on the angels and all God’s people to join him in ascribing honor and glory to the Lord for his strength, his glory, and his holiness. “Give God the credit for the great things he does! Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness!” he urges us. David knew that the greatest thing in all our lives is to worship God. That’s what we were created to do. When we give honor to God, he blesses us and lights our path. When we look at his glory and holiness, he gives us his perspective, and everything else pales in comparison. But when our busyness pushes worship aside and our focus gets off of God and onto the things of this world or ourselves, we lose our way. Darkness and emptiness begin to envelope us. Do you want the joy of knowing God and experiencing his love? Take a few minutes to read Psalm 29 aloud and worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness!

LORD, forgive me for getting wrapped up in myself and my tasks and forgetting to give you credit for all you have done in my life and in the world around me. Create in me a heart of worship. This day I give honor to you and worship you for the glory of your name, for your amazing strength and might, for the splendor of your holiness!

WE ARE SAVED TO WORSHIP GOD. ALL THAT CHRIST HAS DONE FOR US IN THE PAST AND ALL THAT HE IS DOING NOW LEADS TO THIS ONE END.

Walk in Worship

Guide me in your truth and teach me. Show me your paths, oh Lord. These are the words of comfort we find in Psalm 25. We are never without direction, wisdom and deliverance.

Even when it feels that we have lost our way, that the road is too long, or that the path has too many turns, God provides every step and always reveals the right way.

It is often said, “It's not about the destination but the journey.” What I am learning is that it's not about the journey, but more about the direction. The Israelites wandered in a circle for forty years. You can call that a journey, but it had no direction.

When we seek His wisdom, He blesses us on His path. We give Him thanks and praise; along the journey, we walk in His worship.

May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance.
