For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the
altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an
atonement for the soul.
For just a few moments I would like to cover the
timeless words of the song nothing but the Blood
Written by Robert Lowry in 1876. More than 140 years
later, Christians still sing the hymn with conviction, resounding the eternal
truth that we are told about in
(Hebrews
9:22) ”And almost all things are by the
law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission”
The blood of Jesus is salvation, healing, and eternal
life. No matter what you struggle with in this life there is no Hurt, Habit or
Hang-up that the blood of Christ cannot
defeat
(Isaiah 53:5) ” But he was wounded for our
transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities the chastisement of our peace
was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed”
The blood of Jesus to the Christian these words are
some of the most beautiful ever spoken or penned.
To others, the idea that all mankind needs a Savior
is foolish thought.
(1 Corinthians 1:18) “For the
preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which
are saved it is the power of God”
4 Points
to live by
(1) What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
Revelation
1:5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten
of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us,
and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
(2) What can make me whole again?

John 1:7
“But
if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with
another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin”
Oh! Precious is the flow that makes me white as snow;
(3) No other fount I know,

He must be our source and our hearts desire
I was guilty, I have been weighed on the scales and
found Guilty.
But when Jesus came in where there was no hope now

cleansing this I see for my pardon this
my plea—Nothing but the blood of Jesus!
Hebrews

Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that
great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
The God of peace will give you every good thing you
need so that you can do what he wants.

God is the one who raised from death our Lord Jesus,
the Great Shepherd of his sheep.
He raised him because Jesus sacrificed his blood to
begin a relationship of true love for all and that never ends

Nothing can for sin atone,
Naught of good that I have done,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
Naught of works, ’tis all of grace
Nothing but the blood of Jesus!
This is all my hope and peace,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
This is all my righteousness,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
Conclusion:
The trumpets played nothing but the blood of Jesus and
the angels sang every sweet refrain of Amazing Grace
Every single voice makes
a joyful noise
How sweet the sound when the saints rejoice
To every broken heart and every wounded soul
New life begins on streets of gold
There is no mistaking the fact it is nothing but the
blood of Jesus
Glory! Glory! This I sing
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
All my praise for this I bring
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
